Classes are every Saturday from 1-3PM from September 22 to October 13 (total 8 hours)
Vincent Andreas is a 3D designer and animator with a BFA in Art History from the University of Texas Austin and a MFA in Animation and Visual effects from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Vincent endeavors to bring his expertise and passion to the borderland through unique design services and education on creative technologies.
Week 01 – History of animation, principles of creating believable animated characters, introduction to drawing
Activity: Create a flipbook using a simple bouncing ball to show their grasp of the principles of animation.
Week 02 – Students will also begin storyboard treatments and finalize script in preparation for voice acting. We will also go over the beginnings of lip sync.
Activity: Create all the primary vocal sounds out of paper and laying each out for each character. Finally as a class we will record all the necessary voice acting for the final project.
Week 03 – Ramp up with the shot production, before principal photography begins we will set up and layout the two environments, using a combination of clay, and paper crafts, and also incorporate 3D printed elements.
Activity: Students will be broken into two groups and will begin to shoot the first two scenes, and if there is time proceed onto the third scene.
Week 04 – Students will also be introduced to the world of visual effects, compositing, and lighting.
Activity: Finalize film production pipeline and finalize the last shots and any other necessary touch ups on the animation
