A coding class for adults. Learn coding, network with professionals and peers, and enjoy a complimentary beer, wine, tea, or coffee from NOMU Cafe.

July 12 – Aug 3, every Wednesday and Thursday from 6 – 8 PM.

This course will teach you the essential elements of web page development, covering HTML, CSS and JavaScript. HTML together with CSS will be discussed and explored through hands-on projects from Day 1. Then, together we will consider the essential components of JavaScript, including variables, arrays, loops, events and functions. Finally, we will explore more advanced elements of JavaScript control, including advanced use of functions, event control, array processing, and DOM manipulation.

No previous experience of these technologies is necessary, although it is helpful if you have some prior programming experience.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

• Create a web page using HTML elements
• Be able to apply CSS (style sheet rules) to parts of a web page, for altering display and behavior
• Be able to program interactive JavaScript in a web page

Class projects include:

• Build a calculator
• Program a simple Flappy Bird clone
• Design your own website

Randy White, Software Developer of Raymond James Financial Services, will be the leading instructor for the class.
