The global COVID19 pandemic has caused many economic disruptions—especially artists, artisans, and designers who are small business owners, sole-proprietors, and self-employed. Fab Lab presents Digital Transformation for Artists Training Series to help strengthen local economies and empower artists with 21st century digital tools in project management, digital marketing, and e-commerce. Each workshop will be led by an industry professional with many years of experience working in the Paso del Norte region.
Andrea Gates-Ingle is the co-founder and executive director of Creative Kids, a non-profit recognized by First Lady Michelle Obama in 2013 and awarded the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award. Creative Kids Project AIM (Arts in Motion), a visual arts program for pediatric oncology patients will be recognized for its effectiveness in developing learning and life skills in young people by engaging them in the arts and humanities. Creative Kids has worked with many local artists and engaged youth participation in the public art installations around El Paso in partnership with The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department.
