Event Details

Combining character animation, story-telling, 3D environment design with 360 virtual reality environments, this workshop is best described as “making space for endless imagination.”
Using a classroom cloud-based 3D virtual reality creation environment that features drag and drop 3D objects and images, students are free to create various scenes that can be viewed by anyone online, including in Google Cardboard-based virtual reality headsets.

Each group of students will design, model, screen write, and animation a 5-minute short film which will be available for online VR viewing by family and friends. This workshop will go from start to finish the creation o a fully realized animation short using specialized software built for Oculus Rift and HTC VIVE virtual reality immersive systems. Students will learn camera placement, lip sync, motion capture, and prop use all within a 3D environment.

Healthy and balanced lunch with a sandwich, juice, chips, and fruit snacks included.

Limited to 20 students!

Vincent Andreas is a 3D designer and animator with a BFA in Art History from the University of Texas Austin and a MFA in Animation and Visual effects from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Vincent endeavors to bring his expertise and passion to the borderland through unique design services and education on creative technologies.
