“Girls Who Code Club”!

 

Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization which aims to support and increase the number of women in computer science. The organization is working to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like and does.

Our volunteer instructor this year is Alex Melendez, a Dean’s List computer science student at University of Texas El Paso. She is involved in several clubs and organizations promoting tech empowerment on campus and interned for Microsoft in Seattle, Washington Summer 2018.

Application deadline is September 20, 2018Accepted students announced on September 21, 2018.

Our program is free of charge to the young women accepted.

Classes are every Saturday from 1 to 3pm, starting on October 6, 2018 and ending December 1, 2018. 

Before you get started, please review the requirements checklist.

The applicant must be –

☝︎Middle School or High School age, or 11-18 years old

☝︎A resident in El Paso, Texas
