Salary Range: $40,000 – $45,000
Schedule: 40 hours per week-weeknights and weekend availability
Location: Fab Lab El Paso at La Nube STEAM Discovery Center

About the Role
Fab Lab El Paso is seeking a passionate and dedicated STEAM Instructor with expertise in STEAM education to join the team. The ideal candidate will inspire and empower students in grades K-12 to explore the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
The STEAM Instructor will work under the general supervision of the Director of Operations and in collaboration with the 3D Printing Instructor. As a STEAM Instructor, you will design and deliver engaging lessons and activities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

- Have a bachelor’s degree in an Education and/or a combination of relevant experiences.
- Have experience teaching or instructing students in grades K-12, preferably in a STEAM-related capacity.
- Possess strong knowledge and passion for STEAM subjects, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to young learners.
- Familiar with current educational standards and frameworks in STEAM education.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail in lesson planning, assessment, and record-keeping.
- Proven experience in integrating technology and educational software in STEAM instruction.
- Display patience, adaptability, and a genuine desire to inspire and motivate students in their STEAM learning journey.

Essential Functions
- Instruction and Facilitation: Deliver dynamic and interactive STEAM lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Provide clear explanations, demonstrations, and guidance to ensure students grasp complex STEAM concepts effectively. Utilize appropriate technology tools, resources, and educational software to enhance instruction and student learning outcomes.
- Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress in STEAM subjects. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to support their individual growth and development. Monitor and document student performance, maintain accurate records, and communicate progress to students, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
- Classroom Management and Safety: Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that adheres to organization policies and guidelines. Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior, engagement, and cooperation among students. Ensure the proper handling and storage of equipment, materials, and supplies used in STEAM activities.
- Collaboration and Professional Development: Collaborate with fellow instructors, school staff, and community partners to enhance the overall STEAM education program. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on emerging trends, resources, and instructional strategies in STEAM education. Engage in ongoing reflection and self-assessment to continually improve teaching practices and student outcomes.

Physical Demands/Occupational Hazards
This position is highly active. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Observe and react to the needs of students, parents, team members, guests, volunteers, and community partners
- Manipulate, lift and/or move materials weighing up to 30 pounds
- Bend, kneel, reach, walk, and stand frequently
- Daily exposure to laser cutters, 3D Printers, and fabrication equipment
- Communicate safety hazards
- Occasionally work in outdoor elements
- Occasionally walk on uneven surfaces
- Occasionally interact with leaning edges and glass barriers
- Observe State and Federal OSHA safety standards
