Screen Shot 2016-01-13 at 5.59.23 PM

Fab Lab El Paso Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Gustavo Arriaga discusses what led him to the world of Open Sourcing and the infinite possibilities it has in store for the future. Through several storylines, Gus shares his insight about Fab Labs around the world, online collaboration and the future of Open Source applications.

Gus is a recovering Neurobiologist now exploring the wild world of digital fabrication. After receiving a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Duke University and completing a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Tokyo he left the bench to return home and co-found the non-profit Fab Lab El Paso. As director of the Fab Lab he’s always seeking ways to leverage the power of open source design and distributed manufacturing to accelerate scientific discovery.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
