Night at the Museum DIY Dinosaur Skeletons

Growing up, the natural history museum was definitely one of our favorite places to visit. Even as adults, the fascination with poised skeletons of magnificent creatures lives on and continues to spark the imagination.

With the help of our Full Spectrum laser cutter, Shapeoko 2 precision mill (for small to medium size) or our blackFoot CNC router (for larger ones), you can actually make your own models. Precision Milling Signs of the Times

Need an eye-catching way to promote your business? Maybe a commemorative plaque to celebrate a milestone event? How about just a thoughtful gift to a special someone?

Take a look at these gorgeous signs that people have designed and made on the Shapeoko Precision Mill, using a cutting dremel mount. You don’t need to spend a small fortune on custom signs and you don’t need to spend countless hours of your life painstakingly hand-carving (though we’d always keep a secret, of course.)

The blackFoot CNC router has a 4 ft x 8 ft cutting area intended for cutting large sheet material. With the remarkable precision that the blackFoot provides you will be able to apply this machine for a wide variety of projects and machining various non-metal materials including wood, plastic, foam and others.

Young Bio-Maker Hacks the Hand

Let’s be honest. Who didn’t want a bionic arm when they were young? Well, young biohackers these days are not only fulfilling childhood dreams, they’re also providing affordable alternatives to overpriced prosthetics from greedy medical supply corporations. The current issue of MAKE Magazine features a growing number of young biohackers who are pursuing cutting-edge research in their own spaces. The first biohacker spaces were fueled by the DIY biology movement, in which untrained hobbyists started injuring themselves running biotechnology experiments in their kitchens and garages. As research tools and lab areas become more accessible through communal set-ups like hacker spaces or Fab Labs, biological experimentation is made easier (and safer!) for hobbyists and entrepreneurs alike.
